SUBJECT: The slopes around Salomons Memorial Viewpoint on Box Hill, Surrey, are a popular attraction even when thick snow covers the grassland and footpaths, and the views are obscured by a dense chilly winter’s mist. People of all ages gather to enjoy the chance to slither down the hillside on whatever they can find, be it a readymade toboggan or a makeshift board; or maybe just breath in the crisp clean air and marvel as a brilliant watery sun sinks into the west.
