SUBJECT: Vine Cottage is a 17th century Grade-2 cruck-framed building, constructed of granite and slate rubblestone with a stone plinth and timber framing. The thatch roof has end-stacks and a ridge stack on the front wing. The rear wing is possibly later with part stone walling and remains of timber framing on stone plinth. Vine Cottage is close to Bradgate Park which was enclosed as a deer park about 800 years ago but now provides 830 acres of publicly accessible countryside.
